2009 - A very Fruitful Year Indeed!

At times I'm so consumed with the busy everyday life that I missed the good things happening in my life.  As the year ends....let me count the blessings I failed to notice:

  1. An opportunity to migrate to Australia
  2. A good decision to go back to my old wish to pursue my application with Canada and forget my Australian dream.
  3. Know the true colors of people I mingle with.  I'm a very sensitive person and could get hurt easily but I have learned this year that not all rude people are bad.
  4. I've learned an unconditional love ---to my niece... really love her so much
  5. A divine blessing of being included in the fast-tract of my immigration application, supported by my ever helpful family.  We are all into this and I will forever be in debt to them.

THE ONION AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE (Happy Holidays Everybody!)

THE ONION AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE

The family is sitting at the dinner table. The son asks his father, "Dad, how many kinds of boobies are there?"

The father, surprised, answers, "Well son, there are three kinds of breasts. In her twenties, a woman's breasts are like melons, round & firm. In her thirties & forties, they are like pears, still nice, but hanging a bit. After fifty, they are like onions."

"Onions?"

"Yes, when you see them, they will make you cry."  L

This infuriated his wife and daughter so the daughter says, "Mom, how many types of "willies" are there?"

The mother, surprised, smiles and answers, "Well, a man goes through three phases. In his twenties, his "willie" is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his thirties & forties, it's like a birch tree, flexible but reliable.. After his fifties, it is like a Christmas tree."

"A Christmas tree??"

"Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are for decoration only." J

Send it out to all your girlfriends and guy friends who need a laugh to brighten up their day

FW: What Does Love Mean?

A  group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to  8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"
The answers they got were  broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore.

So  my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got  arthritis too. That's love."

Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."

 Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."

 Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."

 Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."

  Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."

 Danny - age 7
< BR>

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be  together and you talk more.
My  Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"

 Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."

 Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"

Nikka - age 6

(we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."

 Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."

 Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me  and saw my daddy waving and smiling.

He  was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."

 Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybody.

You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."

 Clare -! age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
 Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Brad Pitt."

 Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
 Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."

 Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image)

 Karen - age 7

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a  lot. People forget."

 Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.

The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring  child.

The winner was a  four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who  had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the  old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there! .

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

;"Nothing, I just helped him cry"

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Take 60  seconds and give this a shot! All you do is simply say the following small  prayer for the person who sent you this.

Father, God bless all my  friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And  may their life be full of your peace,  which  transcends all understanding. Amen.

Then send it on to  five other r people, including the one who sent it to you. Within hours you  caused a multitude of people to pray for other people. Then sit back and watch the power of God work in your life.

P. S. Five is good, but more is better.

Quote of the day: A right attitude with your family begins with a right attitude toward God.....

The Devil & the Duck

The Devil & the Duck

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.

[]

He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.

He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target.

Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.

As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.

[]

Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!

In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his
Sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

[]

After lunch the next day Grandma said, 'Sally, let's wash the dishes'

But Sally said, 'Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.'

Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?'

So Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, 'I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.'

Sally just smiled and said, 'well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help?

She whispered again, 'Remember the duck?' So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

[]
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he
finally couldn't stand it any longer.

He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.

Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, 'Sweetheart, I know. Yo u see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.'

[]

Thought for the day and every day thereafter:

Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... And the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.)...whatever it is... Yo u need to know that:

God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing.

[]

He has seen your whole life... He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.

The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not only forgives you, but He forgets.

It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved.
Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today.
Share this with a friend and always remember:
God is at the window!

[]

When Jesus died on the cross; he was thinking of you!

Filipinos Amidst Ondoy (Ketsana)

While some parts of the world are in dire need of rainfall, Philippines just had more than enough precipitation in just six hours.  In these critical times, people from all walks of life joined hands to help people devastated by typhoon Ondoy.

I am very saddened but at the same time happy of what this particular typhoon brought.  I am saddened that lives, homes and livelihood were awashed by this act of God.

My heart is in constant pain seeing my countrymen silently suffer from the aftermath, even through childrens' eyes depicted the anguish they are enduring as if they fully understand what is going on arround them.  The hard-earned possessions taken forcibly by nature and worst, for the untimely demise of others.

I am happy though that the nearly-extinct culture of "Bayanihan" has suddenly emerged.  The good-nature and positive traits of Filipinos has finally found its way from the deep recesses of every Filipinos' hearts.  Ordinary, influential people, celebrities and men in uniforms alike lend a hand in whatever form they could extend.

Days after the typhoon...
most roads are already passable, houses have already cleaned, family members are already accounted for...
Life must go on.  After a little bumb in this road called life, Filipinos will still stand and continue the journey with a smile.

FW: Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, we humbly pray to you as a nation. We plead to Your merciful heart that You may look upon us with compassion.  We pray for our brothers who have lost their lives. Receive them in Your Heavenly kingdom. We pray for those who are lost and those trying to get home to  their families.  Make their way easy.  We pray for those who have lost their homes. Give them comfort.  We pray for those who are still exposed to the bad conditions and awaiting help. Give them strength.  Everything we do for our unfortunate bretheren, we offer to You and Your Glory.  All this we pray in the most holy Name of Jesus. Amen.

Kindly share this simple prayer with your family and friends, and let us all observe a minute of silence at 10pm tonight to pray as a nation… GOD bless!

I love baby showers

What is a better way to welcome a tiny little angel than to help his/her mother in the future birth of the child.  Normally, only women attend baby showers but we do this differently.  We invite all our collegues, men and women, to this very special celebration, aside from the fact that they get to share in the bill  :-)
On 20 August 2009, NGL pips willingly share in this joyous celebration, baby shower for Khloe Angelette Jardinado.  One of the thing I would enjoy most is the camaraderie that such celebration brings.
There were so many things to considered, from choosing the venue, all criteria met, ample space to have a simple games and the most important criterion--- should be affordable ...Best bet was North Park

Thoough we're expecting our friends/collegues to join the baby shower, we wanted to have the best food we could munch on.  This is the forte of Ms Liza and Cam, they choose the food.  And oh btw, the cupcakes were divine, thanks to Carmi's sister.  For these particular goodies, looks cannot be deceiving, they were as delicious as they were lovely to at...
Our collegues joined hands to make this simple place with an idyllic atmosphere.  We were the advance party and we had fun doing the chores of decorating our venue...

Creative hands....come out!  come out!

We're set... waiting for the guests to arrive...

Celle and Jade, they've become inseparable now.

Here comes the celebrated mom...

What better way to party than to have games.  I love party games, it breaks the ice, it encourages cooperation and interaction between players and brings out the most satisfying smiles to all the guests.
Party games are fun but coupled with my colleagues' humor, the party was hilarious...
And now--- what most of our guests were actually waiting for--- the dinner tables were set...munch mucnh munch...
After everyone had their fill, we proceed with the the party proper... SHOWERING Anna and Khloe with gifts...
See Mommy Anna's glowing face...
Pack up time.  The closing part---group pic!
Time to go home...Whew, great party!
I do hope I could get straight home...but no, after this party, I met with my other friends...So tiring day!
