While some parts of the world are in dire need of rainfall, Philippines just had more than enough precipitation in just six hours. In these critical times, people from all walks of life joined hands to help people devastated by typhoon Ondoy.
I am very saddened but at the same time happy of what this particular typhoon brought. I am saddened that lives, homes and livelihood were awashed by this act of God.
My heart is in constant pain seeing my countrymen silently suffer from the aftermath, even through childrens' eyes depicted the anguish they are enduring as if they fully understand what is going on arround them. The hard-earned possessions taken forcibly by nature and worst, for the untimely demise of others.
I am happy though that the nearly-extinct culture of "Bayanihan" has suddenly emerged. The good-nature and positive traits of Filipinos has finally found its way from the deep recesses of every Filipinos' hearts. Ordinary, influential people, celebrities and men in uniforms alike lend a hand in whatever form they could extend.
Days after the typhoon...
most roads are already passable, houses have already cleaned, family members are already accounted for...
Life must go on. After a little bumb in this road called life, Filipinos will still stand and continue the journey with a smile.
