Dream come true!

One of my so-called dreams came true in Cebu. I actually swim in the open sea. It took us 3 hours rough bus ride to Hagnaya Wharf and another one-hour ferry boat ride to the island. A welcoming view greeted us with the white sand surrounding the island and the friendly people offering boat-ride at a very low-cost, considering that they are offering unlimited use. As much as we wanted to plunge into the crystal clear water upon arrival at the port, we have decided to go to the church -- the coveted 400+ years old place of worship.

Good Friday 2009

Instead of contemplating on the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ on this very holy day, I was actually roaming around the province of Cebu. It's good thing we were in Bantayan Island on that particular day, the Lenten capital in the Southern part (or so they claimed as I was expecting a huge crowd of penitent church-goers but did not get to see any procession or the like) as we were able to say short prayers before we went our merry way.
The church was 400+ years old and it looks like the parish were actually preserving its original form --- free from the claws of renovation.
