Getting Around Macau

There is no better way to explore the beauty of Macau but to go on foot. Make sure to put on your most confortable shoes ...

Or get on and off the myriad busses circling around the city proper- ABSOLUTELY FOR FREE!!!

Kulitan sa Loob ng Venetian...

Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square) central landmark and gathering place in Venice. True to what its known for, we met our tour guide here. Fellow Filipinos whose 2nd job or day job is to offer their services to tour their kababayan for a fee. We haggle their fee, since they are charging us per pax and we are 15 in the group, definitely the discount they gave won't hurt them.

Our tour guides serve as photographers as well. It's great we decided to get their services, otherwise we won't have class pictures. I admire our kababayan's attitude abroad, they never stop working. No matter how tired they are during their night job, they get up and look for other things to earn money. KUDOS to all OFWs!

We don't have much money to linger long time at the casinos, more so plunge into shopping spree. So we just contented ourselves looking at those clothes, shoes and bags... huhuhu

The Venetian Macau’s Festivita Food Court. We grab our lunch here. The location is so stunningly beautiful, with the sky and the building suurrounding the eating area. We really had a hard time choosing our food, well, the food is not exactly the problem. We are here on a very tight budget, so we'd like to get a great taste with the meager allotment for food...hahaha. There are actually wide variety of food here- Asia, European, American cuisines.

Who would go to Venice without crossing the famous Rialto Bridge (it's the Heart of Venice) on the Grand Canal. Like the bona fide bridge - it is the only way to cross the Grand Canal on foot (not until the Accademia Bridge was built in 1854).

Inside the hotel is a a mini- Grand Canal. I've never been to Venice and visiting place like this makes me like in that place. The details are uncanny, complete with gondola floating on the water.

The collosal Venetian Hotel....ummm behind ha...

One thing that makes this vacation an unforgetable one is that we're all wacky. My sister, who has no acquaintance in the group and who met my collegues for the first time, never -for one moment -felt awkward. At least that's what she told me.

Venetian Hotel

The Venetian Macao - single structure hotel building in Asia and the4th largest building in the world by area is owned by the Las Vegas Sands corporation. Very beautiful hotel -- Mmmm-- I wonder what is the difference of this hotel resort from the one in Las Vegas. I better have to tick my future calendar to see it for myself and blog about my personal comparison of the two.

This is the famous hallway of the hotel. Beaming lights and faux limestone columns.

Feels like heaven...
Heaven is closer now today... (this is a song)
Angels looking down on us from the ceiling. After staring at it for like a minute, I felt dizzy.

Ma soeur et moi!

1st Night in Macau

Whoa! We're here, after an hour of travel. Exhausted since we started our day in the office and left in the afternoon. By 8pm, we're in different country.. all energized upon setting foot in Macau.

We're definitely not time-waster! We just plunked our things in Metropark Hotel (a very low-cost hotel with 5-star service..maybe I'm exagerating, I like their service and the room is nice) and jump start our gala moment--- take note--- on foot.

Overwhelmed with the casinos, resorts and hotels, we could

definitely deprive ourselves with sleep but not with sight-seeing the place in the evening. Night is awesome.

My sister, a noodle-lover, can't wait to have her first-authentic Chinese noodles.

Triciclos de Macau- used to be the principal means of transport in Macao from the 1950s to the 1970s.

At present, there are only about 70 tricycles in Macau and the patrons are mainly tourists. Sadly, we never had the chance to experience riding triciclo. We have lots of similar pedicabs here in the Philippines though.

The very grand Casino Lisboa behind us.

Senado Square at night. This is the city centre, a very busy place during the day and a peaceful solace at night.
Macau is known for its beautiful sqauers, plazas and gardens all over the city. Buildings around Largo do Leal Senado are so magnificent -- an opportunity we missed since we quit to go farther Casino Lisboa. Good thing Celle's group made it at the square.

Get set--- GO!

We are set to go. Everybody in the office knew we're off for vacation. I know this is a vacation to rememeber as I am with my colleagues and friends. Thanks to one of our very resourceful organizer and tour guide aussi, she made an arrangement for our transporatation to the airport-- ever reliable Celle.

W hile waiting for our boarding time, we had our lunch at the airport. The food was not so great-- but what the heck-- we're all smile and happiness radiates in our faces as we are very excited with our trip.

The girls of Macau Team, all smile to the camera. We definitely could not get enough pictures. Almost everyone has their camera with them. Our photographers-- the better half of Cate and Ann's BF.

This is my sister's first out of the country travel. She's so excited!
